I know you are right--that they are given more than taken--maybe especially with wildlife. It is very exciting--and it can be frustrating at times--but I am always looking for that extra special moment! (like your Elk in the frosty morning--bugling) It is a great way to live.

What I am saying is you do what you can, and you can improve your odds, but ultimately the images you get are given more than taken. I think it was Lincoln that said chance favors the prepared mind. I think it is the same thought. MD

I will have to think about that for a while---"Photography is nothing if not uncertain." Yes--I can shoot 100-200 photos in a very short time. Well--this one is a winner for sure! (well the uncertain part makes it exciting--and I guess that is why I like wildlife)

Thanks, you have to shoot a hundred pictures to get this compositional moment. Today was pretty good, 200 photos got me 5 pictures I really like. Photography is nothing if not uncertain. MD
